How Can You Reach For The Rupin Pass Trek?
By Road: Shimla has good road connectivity. You can quickly get a direct bus to Shimla or travel to Chandigarh and find a bus from there. You can take a taxi or hire a cab to enjoy the ride comfortably. By Train: You can board the special train from Chandigarh to reach Shimla. SHIVALK DLX EXP, Himalayan Queen, and KLK SML EXP are some of the most famous trains people prefer to take from Chandigarh. There are also direct trains from several cities to Shimla. So choose the train convenient for you. By Flight: The Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport from Shimla, which is 120 km from here. You can take a flight to Chandigarh and take a bus or train to Shimla. There are many cities which have direct air connectivity to Shimla.
What Is The Best Time To Go On The Rupin Pass Trek?
The Rupin Pass is only open during the summer and autumn as it is at 15,000 feet. So most people prefer to go on this trek from mid-May to the end of June. Also, another great time will be from mid-September to mid-October. You will see beautiful, incredible views, and the meadows are covered with luscious green grass. So you can take short breaks throughout the trek and enjoy. As this trek is of moderate difficulty, most people can efficiently complete it. However, it would be best to have a walking habit as you will have to walk a lot during this trek.

Rail head Dehradun. You can reach Dehradun by an overnight journey from Delhi. New Delhi Dehradun AC Special leaves New Delhi station at 11.55 in the night to get to Dehradun by 5.40 in the morning. TrekupIndia staff will pick up the trekkers.

Temperature in May, Jun .Day: 15° to 20°C. Night: 4° to 7°C. Temp at highest camp, RatiPheri: Day 5°C to 10°C. Night: 3° to -2°C.
Temperature in Sept and Oct. Day: 13° to 20°C. Night: 2° to 7°C. Temp at highest camp, RatiPheri: Day 3°C to 10°C. Night: 3° to -5°C.
Rain Rains start early July until mid September. Approach road landslides common in late August and early Sep. Usually repaired in a few days.
Snow High snow in May from Saruwas Thatch onwards (3 days of the trek has considerable snow). Decreases in June.Comfortable snow during the last half of June. September has little snow. In the first week of October, the first winter snow is likely to fall in the upper reaches. Usually melts in a few days.
Trains available: 1. NandadeviExp -- Train No 12205 (Departure -23.50;Arrival - 5.40am) 2. Dehradun Exp -- Train No 12687 (Departure -21.10; Arrival - 5.00am)
Getting to Dhaula: 1. Dhaula can be reached by a private vehicle from Dehradun. 2. The other way to get there is to take a bus from Dehradun to Sankri, get off at Naitwar and take a shared jeep to Dhaula. The bus from Dehradun leaves at 5.30 am from Gandhi Road, just outside the railway station. 3. If you are taking a taxi the route is Dehardun -- Mussoorie -- Damta -- Nowgaon -- Purola -- Mori -- Naitwar -- Dhaula. It is a 10 hour long, but lovely road journey. 4. If you prefer trains you can also take an overnight train from Delhi to Dehradun.
